FE2022—The Promise of Extraordinary Longevity
Longevity is not the simple extension of life, but the sustained coordination of biological systems over time. Building on the seasonal environmental context established in FE1997 and the distinction between maturation and aging explored in FE2017, this essay challenges the assumption that biological decline is inevitable and fundamentally distinct from disease. If human biology evolved to endure through cycles of stress, repair, and reorganization, then aging may reflect not the passage of time itself, but the collapse of adaptive architecture. From this perspective, longevity is not achieved by avoiding stress or eliminating damage, but by preserving the capacity to respond, repair, and continue developing. FE2022 introduces hormesis as a governing principle rather than a therapeutic tactic, reframing short-term, structured stress as essential to long-term resilience. These ideas are presented as a testable architectural model, forming the conceptual foundation for research, measurement, and validation efforts within CBA2029.
